It's made of paper mache-like material, but still sturdy. The light purple details are really cute, though the beads do clunk against each other and I'm afraid they'll crack eventually. I wouldn't recommend to those sensitive to sound/noise. I have pretty long hair that reaches my lower back, and this hair pin did a wonderful job keeping it up and didn't bend/break.
